THE SIMPLE LIFE?

I've never really taken notice of Nicole Richie until recently. She has some beautiful make up looks.

BLACK & LACE

Last night was my friends Birthday night out, it was such a good night. Had so much fun & a little too much to drink but it's only her Birthday once a year! Excuses! This is what I wore with the orange  clutch I blogged about before. The dress is a Zara special, only £25.99 - Bargain. It has lace sections above the cut outs but obviously from wearing a bra you can't see it. It is such a lovely dress & I really liked wearing it. I think I need some more colour about my face, on my lips I think! My face looks weird in this photo also... amazing night though!

CLUTCHING ONTO ORANGE

Meet my new bag. Isn't she gorgeous! H&M £12.99. Steal. Orange is my favourite colour, if you take part in the Celina Fabise quiz 2012 & favourite colour comes up, you're sorted! It is a beautiful rich orange suedette (I presume) with beige patent section. I was searching for a black clutch as mine are getting a little done looking but my eyes met with Orange here, I checked her out & she was mine. *Story slightly romanticised*

I plan on debuting this little beaut on my arm tonight with my new Zara dress, I will get decent outfit pictures & show you both! Promise.

IN YOUR FACE

These jeans I am not 100% sure about. They are very red. Proper bright, in your face red. They drew a few looks on the streets today. I love the colour but I'm not sure if I am brave enough or confident enough to stroll carelessly down the street in extremely bright trousers. I think part of my dislike is that I'm not too keen on what i have paired them with. I think a plain v neck tshirt & a chunky gold necklace with nude pumps would have been nicer. Less preppy... This is what I wore today nonetheless!

I am considering going darker on the hair front, I just can't get my make up to work for me just now. My skin is rubbish just now which I don't think is helping. Generally feeling poopy!

TIED WITH A BOW

Top - River Island
Ribbon tied in a bow - Card shop
Belt - Zara
Shorts - Levi vintage
Boots - Topshop Alec's
Leather jacket - Oasis
Bag - Topshop

I love this green top. It was a total steal at £12 but it has become a firm favourite of mine. I bought a meter of black ribbon from a gift shop to use as a bow at the neck which I think adds a bit of interest to the outfit & makes it more versatile. All about versatility am I. The ever famous Levi shorts back another appearance, I am going to get a second pair tomorrow! I tore one of the rips a bit more today with my big stupid foot but you can't really tell...

I bought a new outfit for the weekend which I love & am so excited to wear. I love it when this happens, you lose hope of finding something then it all appears to you, angels sing & a bright light shines round the item. Just me this happens to?!

BASIC

Tshirt - Topman Shorts - Levi Belt - Zara Scarf & ring - H&M bracelet - Boutique in Glasgow

A really simple, easy outfit. I was in uni for a couple of hours then heading to work so thought I would keep it simple. White tshirt from Topman - they have much better basics than Topshop, don't get me wrong Topshop is my one true love but they need to work on their basics. Anyways, I wore my Levi shorts (again!) I love them. The patch on the bum is falling off so might invest in a second pair. The belt is a Zara summer sale find that adds a bit of interest & edge - I guess you could say - to the outfit. The scarf is very old H&M which was added for warmth & colour! Basic. Simple. Nothing exciting really!

BAGS OF LOVE

Do you ever just get a certain item that no matter what you will always go back to? This brown bag is just that for me. It was a 21st Birthday gift & although I have broken the fastening by loading too much of my rubbish into it, it is a bag I always go back to. This week I have done just that. It is very structured with plenty of room inside, really a perfect bag. I initially longed for a bag in this style after seeing it in earlier posts from Karla of Karla Closet and on Lady Melbourne.

P.S. Ignore my minging carpet ... the landlords skimped on that point! It is hideous.

YELLOW & STRIPES

Tshirt - Charity shop. Skirt & ring - H&M Barbour Daphne Black flats - New Look Nails - Mavala for Elle Grey

First off ignore my leopard prints slippers, I didn't think they would make there way into the picture... Asda £4 is anyone is interested. Comfy ass slippers, let me tell you! Anyway, this t shirt was a charity shop find and a total bargain at that. It still it the original Mango label on it saying it was £19.50, I got it for £8.50! How good is that. It is something a little different from a standard striped t shirt, the yellow is a nice splash of brightness too. I was umming over what to wear it with this morning but settled for my black bandage skirt - can't go wrong really. I think I need more definition about my eyes, they just seem to be sunk in my head today, if you get me?! I need to put on more eye make up. Help!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

GREEN WITH COLLAR

I was planning on doing an outfit post with this new top from River Island but I just can't be bothered getting my camera set up & trying to get decent shots so I am afraid a web cam shot will have to do for today. This top was only £12 but it is a really easy to wear piece that goes with pretty much everything. My only moan - the colour selection. I got the green, it is brighter than pictured but not by much a sort of grass green (?!) or a mushroom colour that was really bland & I doubt would do much for any skin tone or a Barbie almost highlighter pink that River Island seem to be very fond of. I went for green - I don't wear any green really so I thought it would be a nice change. I teamed it with my Levi shorts, leopard print belt, black tights, black flats & my Barbour Daphne jacket. All of which you have seen before.

MAXI

Top, cardigan, skirt & boots - Topshop Leather jacket - Oasis bag - Marc B Scarf - Vintage Belt - Accessorize

This is my first ever maxi, bought back in December I have worn it twice (including this outing). I love it when I actually think 'screw it, I'm wearing it' but find myself umming & ahhhing over whether it is too much. After todays outing, it is a firm favourite in my wardrobe. Of course there had to be a little bit of leopard included - I love my leopard print! I ended up not wearing the knitted scarf as it is a little mild, instead I opted for a black & white spotted silk scarf.

FROM LIGHT TO DARKER

Before ...

After ...

The bleached hair is gone. Say hello to my much shorter, darker blonde pixie crop. I am loving it. It feels so much healthier & was in desperate need of a cut.

RED TROUSERS

Top Zara. Trousers H&M. Bag Primark. Necklace Topshop. Shoes New Look.

I went for dinner & drinks with an old flat mate. I love getting dressed up so this was a perfect excuse. These are the H&M trousers mentioned in previous posts, these are obviously the red version - who'd have guessed?! - and a firm favourite. This was their first outing. They are bright but they are gorgeous & I love them. I kept everything else pretty simple - black with gold accessories. Perfect.

BURNT ORANGE

Dress is Topshop. Shoes are New Look. Tights are Marks & Spencers.

These Topshop dresses were everywhere last year. Everyone had one. I haven't worn mine in ages. Then this morning I randomly decided to wear it again. I love it - I was chubbier when I bought the dress so it is a little bit loose fitting but I think it works. It is a beautiful colour - burnt orange I would say - has a peter pan collar & beautiful bell sleeves. Love. I was in two minds whether people would be like "oh my god that is last years Topshop" but then I thought the people that notice this fact don't matter & the ones that matter don't notice!

NUDE

Top & Belt - H&M Cardigan - ASOS Shorts - Levi Scarf - Marks and Spencers (about ten  year ago)

Just a simple outfit. I had an hour at uni & then a long wait till I started work at five. I feel like sometimes I get a bit lost about what I want to wear in case it is a  bit 'meh' but I can always rely on my Levi shorts. The cardigan was a Christmas present from my lovely brother that I haven't worn as much as I thought I would but I do really love it.  I need your help - I am getting my hair done on Friday and I cannot for the life of my decided between a sort of light brown/dark blonde (similar to my natural colour) or a mid to dark golden brown. What do you think? I am in total limbo about which one.

I just wore my New Look slip on shoes (Cannot for the life of me remember what they are called), my Barbour Daphne & my Topshop bag ... all seen before no doubt!

BLAND

Jumper, Shirt & Trousers - H&M Shoes - New Look
I was feeling really bland & boring today wearing this. I don't know why - maybe because it is basically black, cream & brown?! I love these pieces but I wasn't sure what I wanted to wear so this was the outcome. I like it. Do not love it. I feel like Spring 2012 is all about beautiful pastel shades not browns... I think it is the jumper that is bothering me. Bring on the brights!

BLONDE VS BRUNETTE

If you followed my previous blog then you would have seen my change from brunette, well technically a deep red that had faded to brown, to peroxide blonde. Now nearly six months on, I am considering going back to the brunette side. My hair is dry - very dry, straw like you could say - and as I have a pixie crop my roots come in quickly which adds extra to my six weekly haircut. Don't get me wrong, I love - loved could be the more appropriate word - blonde hair. It was something I really wanted to do & am so glad I did it but recently I have been thinking about going back to my natural colour, well close to my natural colour - I'm thinking a deep golden brownm think Frankie Sanford -  & back to an extremely short pixie crop. Of course I have been going from one extreme to another over what to do but brown is on the cards. Change is never a bad thing.
